Scouts Strike Early to Defeat Copperheads
Drew Snipes drives in two as Xenia builds seven-run lead in road win

ATHENS, Ohio – The Xenia Scouts jumped out to an early seven-run lead and never looked back Saturday night, defeating the Southern Ohio Copperheads 8-2 at Bob Wren Stadium.
Xenia scored six runs over the first two innings before adding another in the third, giving its pitching staff plenty of support in the team's second victory over the Copperheads in three days.
The Scouts opened the scoring in the first when Bo Solley lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home Steven Schneider before Drew Snipes followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0.
Xenia broke the game open in the second. Mack Skeels doubled home a run, Schneider added an RBI double and later stole home, and Snipes collected his second RBI single of the night as the Scouts built a 6-0 advantage. Cooper Schutte added a sacrifice fly in the third to extend the lead to seven.
Southern Ohio scored twice in the third inning, but the Scouts' bullpen shut the door the rest of the way. Will Johnson, Adam Laski, Logan Bach, Drew Hahs and Ryan Redding combined for 6.2 innings of relief, allowing just three hits while holding the Copperheads scoreless after the third.
Snipes led the offense with two hits and two RBIs, while Schneider scored three runs and added an RBI double. Bo Solley finished with two hits, an RBI and five stolen base, and Skeels added an RBI double as Xenia totaled seven hits and thirteen stolen bases.
Saturday's win marked the conclusion of the 2026 Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League season. The Scouts closed the summer with wins in four of their final five games and thank their players, coaches, host families, fans, sponsors, and the Xenia community for their support throughout the season.
