Seven-Run Second Sends Hamilton Past Scouts
Steven Schneider homers as Joes capitalize on early offensive surge.
HAMILTON, Ohio – The Xenia Scouts dropped a 16-3 decision to the Hamilton Joes on Friday evening after a seven-run second inning put the hosts in control.
The Scouts grabbed an early lead and briefly pulled even in the second inning, but Hamilton responded with a decisive offensive outburst and never looked back.
Xenia opened the scoring in the first inning when Drew Snipes crossed the plate on a passed ball. After the Joes answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning, Steven Schneider evened the score with a solo home run to begin the second.
Hamilton quickly reclaimed the momentum, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the second behind a series of timely hits, including a three-run double from Owen McKoon. The Joes added seven more runs over the next three innings to extend their lead.
Schneider's home run accounted for the Scouts' lone RBI, while Zachary Pearrow later scored on a passed ball in the fourth inning. Xenia finished with six hits, including two-hit performances from Drew Snipes and Schneider.
On the mound, Ryan Redding provided two scoreless innings of relief, striking out three while allowing just two hits. Dylan Frymoyer was charged with the loss.
