Groth tabbed as Head Coach for 2026 Scouts
Dr. Jon Groth has been named the Head Coach for the 2026 Xenia Scouts.

Dr. Jon Groth has been named the Head Coach for the 2026 Xenia Scouts. Groth has been
a part of Athletes in Action Baseball since 2012 when he was part of helping the AIA team in
Chugiak-Eagle River Alaska in the Alaska Baseball League. In his college years, he played
two summers with AIA Baseball in 1982 and 1983 before playing two years in the Cincinnati
Reds organization in Billings, Montana and Tampa Florida. Groth has been involved in
college baseball as an assistant coach at the University of New Orleans, Georgia Southern
University, Texas A&M University. He was named the first head coach in starting the
baseball program at Tyler Junior College and was head coach for 17 years, winning a
National Championship in 2007.

in Xenia. Jason Lester has built a great foundation for young men to grow in their faith and
grow in baseball. God changed my life 44 years ago when I played my first summer with AIA
Baseball. As a career college coach, I was privileged to be a part of the AIA team in Alaska
for 12 summers and I look forward to seeing how Jesus will use baseball in the Great Lakes
