On the Field
Athletes in Action Baseball is committed to excellence both on and off the field. Players are not just presented with opportunities to develop their skills in the game of baseball, they are also provided with an environment to mature as young men.
AIA Baseball fields several teams each summer. Players are assigned to team rosters based on athletic ability, position, eligibility, playing experience, coach’s recommendation, the time the application is received and the geographic location of the trip. This year there are 3 national tours; Alaska, Great Lakes, and New York. Each national team plays between 40 and 50 games against teams competing in the highest caliber summer leagues in the nation.
Off the Field
AIA’s desire is to help team members grow in their personal faith and to challenge them to take the next step in their relationship with the Lord no matter where
they are in their faith journey. The players regularly meet with a team chaplain to discuss what they are learning from their encounters with new communities, cultures, and languages. These chaplains conduct Bible studies and discussions to encourage players and coaches to apply a Biblical approach to their everyday lives.
Each athlete receives ministry training, equipping him to effectively share his faith. It is our hope that each player examines his identity as a Christian and learns how to incorporate his love for the game of baseball with his love for Jesus Christ.
